Hi my name is Casey Rogers; I'm 22 years old and from the small town of Dodd City, TX. I grew up and graduated high school in Dodd City. I have a wonderful family and lots of great friends. My parents are the best anyone could ask for. My mom, Vicki, is a P.E. teacher and also coaches volleyball, basketball, and softball. My dad, Nathan, is a farrier and one of the biggest influences in my life. I have a brother, Colby and wife Kassie, who is 20 and attending college and majoring in music. He is also in a Texas Country Band that has been very successful. My sister, Cassidi, is 18 years old and just graduated. She will be attending Commerce in the fall and majoring in elementary education. After I graduated high school I attended Texas Horseshoeing School during the summer and then Northeast Texas Community College in fall of 2005 on a rodeo scholarship. Some of the better parts of my life were spent at NTCC. We did very well as a rodeo team winning back to back Southern Region championships. I competed in the bareback riding event and still do professionally. I qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo in 2008 and that has been the highlight of my rodeo career. I transferred to Texas A and M Commerce in the fall of 2008 and changed my major from Ag Business to Ag Education. I plan to graduate in May 2010 and become an Ag teacher as soon as possible. I also plan to continue shoeing horses and rodeoing. Other than school, horseshoeing, and rodeo I enjoy spending time with friends, sports, especially the Texas Rangers, fishing, playing golf, and horse racing. I love to live life to the fullest and enjoy trying to make a difference in people’s lives that is the main reason I plan on being a teacher.
I think that integrating technology in the classroom is very useful and helpful in many different ways. There are so many different things that you can do with technolgy that can make learning fun and interesting.
